The feeling of heavy legs is characterised by sensitivity in the lower limbs (tension, fatigue).
These symptoms get worse with heat, at the end of the day, with prolonged standing and, for women, in the days before their period.
This feeling of heavy legs is mainly linked to venous insufficiency, that is, poor blood circulation in the veins.
This dysfunction can also slow down the circulation of lymph, which often explains the associated oedema.
Manual lymphatic drainage will:
– improve the circulation of blood and lymph in the body
– reduce oedema and pain in the legs.
Some everyday tips:
– be physically active regularly
– avoid wearing clothes that are too tight
– avoid hot baths! Instead, run cold water over your legs.
– avoid prolonged standing
– raise your legs
– if needed, wear compression stockings or socks
